An EPD (environmental product declaration) is a quality characteristic of modern building products and provides information on the environmental impact of such products and their relevance to human health.
The aim of an EPD is to allow products with the same function to be compared. An EPD is a Type II environmental declaration that provides quantified environmental information based on a product’s life cycle assessment. An EPD is often the basis for participation in sustainable building projects. Building materials, products or components with an EPD have a clear advantage over competitors.
